Kansas Academy has a rare opportunity to secure a new campus — an 18,000 sq. ft. building on 7 acres of lush forested land, conveniently located on the border of Merriam and KCK.
Featuring a playground, a full basketball court gymnasium, and a multi-use theater/assembly hall alongside plenty of offices and classrooms, this property represents far more than just a physical expansion. It symbolizes our vision of education in a setting that empowers students to explore, learn, and grow at their own pace while surrounded by the beauty of nature.
Thanks to strong negotiations, we have secured a purchase price well below asking. However, to finalize the sale, we need to raise the required funds to purchase the building—and we must do so by the end of July 2025. Rent from current tenants on the property who are amenable to sharing the space will help cover month-to-month expenses, but the initial down payment remains our greatest challenge.
This new campus will allow us to expand our student body to ten times its current size without losing the tight-knit, outdoorsy appeal that defines our culture. At Kansas Academy, our mission is to nurture lifelong learners who can set meaningful goals and chart their own paths thanks to an Applied Scholastics curriculum that truly embodies LRH tech. The forested grounds, the spacious gymnasium, and an additional 2,000 sq. ft. home will all serve one purpose: to give each child the tools and environment to flourish in ways traditional schooling cannot.
Beyond the students we serve, this new facility will be a community asset—welcoming families, fostering partnerships, and providing spaces for gatherings. We envision the existing sanctuary becoming a multi-use forum for arts, music, and academic showcases, while the gymnasium will host sports events that bring neighbors and friends together.
