Kansas Academy has acquired a new campus at 4835 Shawnee Drive, Kansas City, Kansas — an 18,000 sq. ft. building on 7 acres of lush forested land, conveniently located on the border of Merriam and KCK.
Featuring a playground, a full basketball court gymnasium, and a multi-use theater/assembly hall alongside plenty of offices and classrooms, this property represents far more than just a physical expansion. It symbolizes our vision of education in a setting that empowers students to explore, learn, and grow at their own pace while surrounded by the beauty of nature.
Our next goal is to renovate the unrenovated wing of the building, the auditorium and the gym. We need to raise the required funds for the renovations and upgrades.
This new campus will allow us to expand our student body to ten times its current size without losing the tight-knit, outdoorsy appeal that defines our culture. Imagine hundreds of young minds benefiting from trails winding through the forest, a place where fresh air and adventure go hand in hand with one-on-one, personalized instruction.
At Kansas Academy, our mission is to nurture lifelong learners who can set meaningful goals and chart their own paths thanks to an Applied Scholastics curriculum that truly embodies LRH tech. The forested grounds, the spacious gymnasium, and an additional 2,000 sq. ft. home will all serve one purpose: to give each child the tools and environment to flourish in ways traditional schooling cannot.
Beyond the students we serve, this new facility will be a community asset—welcoming families, fostering partnerships, and providing spaces for gatherings. We envision the existing sanctuary becoming a multi-use forum for arts, music, and academic showcases, while the gymnasium will host sports events that bring neighbors and friends together.
When students learn in an atmosphere that encourages exploration, creativity, and hands-on discovery, they develop not just academic skills but confidence, empathy, and a love of learning.
